Afternoon Tea with Bondilyn Jolly

“It doesn't matter what your background is. You can succeed wherever you focus your mind."

Bondilyn Jolly, Managing Partner 3SixtyFive, VP of Marketing Elevate

Entrepreneur, investor, founder, CEO, mother, wife, chief badass. This woman has spent her entire professional career leveraging every asset she has and has risen to the top, again and again and again. She attributes her success to having amazing mentors, and now is dedicated to giving a hand up to the women who are trying to build themselves into the leader she has become.

When Bondilyn began her entrepreneurial journey over twenty years ago, she didn’t have the benefit of the currently growing women's movement of today. “I had to fight every step up the ladder and play the men's game. I’m so thrilled that there are women’s group and women's’ investment firms now. I want to help someone else do this in a fraction of the time.”

As a classically trained pianist and percussionist, she took odd sales jobs to make ends meet, and it's no surprise that her brilliance could not be contained. Her past employer became her first client and was the start of her first creative services company. It wouldn’t be long before she was asking, what more the Universe had in store for her. “How can I create a more sustainable business, where I have a certain amount of revenue I can count on every month. I know how to sell these contracts, I know how to negotiate these deals, and I can align myself with the right people.” This was the beginning of her journey to eMerge.

Bondilyn is able to bring her whole self to the table. She sees the world in rainbows, and draws on her artistic and creative background to problem solve using parts of her mind and processing that are her hallmarks of differentiation. “The challenges as a female are interesting because we have a lot of the same attributes as men. We’ve got the brains, we’ve got the brawn and we’ve got the balls to fight, but sometimes its harder to get a seat at the table. I've always felt that if I can just get to the table, I’m worthy to be there.”

And when things don’t work well, she finds another table to build and create at. My company was built on the foundation of trust and respect. I had a very strong sense of responsibility to my employees and their families. This was so important as we discussed the acquisition with Elevate, an Elm Street Technology Solution. “My spirituality is a guiding source for who i am as a wife, a mother and a business woman and I believe we don’t have to compromise our principles for success.” She’s earned her stripes and her wisdom through experience, both positive and negative. And a firm belief in knowing that goodness always comes back to you, she continues to triumph over obstacles while soaring above the fray.

How can our intentional community help Bondilyn’s business grow? She asks that if you have takeaways from this podcast, Afternoon Tea, to continue to support it and share with your network,  these types of initiatives {sigh} lift up the women in our community, business and sphere. Check out her podcast and blog, support each other and help each other grow. There is room for all of us in this space. Let’s move into action together.
