Anne knew it was time to create a space that felt welcoming and to build the place she wanted to work. “This is something that I needed to step into. Women and minorities need greater representation in our industry.”
She and her husband and business partner, Dave, recognized the need to create a more diverse base of realtors that would better reflect the community demographic they serve in Tacoma, Washington. And even though she wouldn’t say she was hard wired for business, her partnership with her husband, life experiences, and her natural leadership abilities, prepared her for this challenge. Both Anne and Dave love going against the grain and are committed to creating spaces that are warm and welcoming. She’s driven to clearly share with others how they can do the same.
“This has been an opportunity for me to tap and leverage some of my relationships, to show off my family, and if you believe that who we are and what we are doing is beautiful and valuable, it's time to put your money where your mouth is and bring us your business. One of the best ways to support women and minority owned businesses is to work with them.”
Anne embodies the ideal of celebrating individuality and bringing your whole self to the table. She reminds agents that they don't have to compromise their personal values for their business. Even though this may be deemed a luxury after a certain amount of financial stability and freedom is obtained, her actions model how to find your voice and to understand when you should stand up and when you should compromise.
This is a game changing trend that Anne, along with The Diva’s, Marguerite Martin, Stacie Staub, Anne Mahon, and others are changing the rules in the real estate industry. In the past, the name of the game was to be neutral and likable to attract the largest amount of people. But they are turning this idea on its head and are strengthening their voices and rallying around causes and issues they care about. Their passion is palpable and are growing their businesses and magnetizing others who share similar values.
“You can be who you are. You do not have to fit into the box that the industry has defined.”
“It has to be a very deliberate thought. You have to pay attention to your brand and marketing. Understand that there are little opportunities that are meaningful. How you represent your brand and are your clients matter. Are you welcoming?”

To say that Sharon Delaney McCloud is superhuman might just be an understatement. Sharon is a mother, an Emmy Award-winning broadcaster, advocate, TEDx Speaker, cancer survivor, author, communications expert, and entrepreneur. It’s near impossible to find something that Sharon has not conquered.
