You may have seen Sam’s face on TV, either on the Million Dollar Listing in Miami or perhaps as a real estate expert on Fox News or CNBC.
For as long as she can remember, Sam loved to sell things. She started secretly selling trinkets, home baked goods and sticker books from her backpack when she was in grade school. She just had a knack for selling and has entrepreneur's blood running through her veins.
Sam understands merchandising and the subtleties of how to maximize dollars, a skill she mastered during her time as a nightclub manager. She was always hustling, by night living the glamorous life, and by day building a nightclub course for the local college. She finally made the transition to real estate but it wouldn’t be long before she would start her own brokerage. “If i’m going to do something, I'm going to grow an empire around it. I wanted to grow something different. I wanted something with more modern and current branding without so many restrictions on marketing, and I knew others would appreciate this as well.”
There isn’t much that gets in her way. When she doesn't get what she wants, she attributes this to any number of things: lack of experience, comfort level with the person but not necessarily because of gender bias. She knows because she asks why she was passed over so she can analyze, improve, and sharpen her sword. “You can’t change people, I can educate them, but I won’t be able to change them. If I don’t like it, I can change how I respond.”
In 2012, Sam’s real estate business was officially catapulted. She was looking outward to others who could help her business grow such as PR agencies and marketing consultants, but this approach was wrong for her. When she began to look inward, trusting her gut, her own abilities and savviness, things began to take off. This was her turning point and she hasn't looked back since.
