Afternoon Tea with Valerie Garcia

“Sometimes you have to leave because your story has to be told somewhere else."

Valerie Garcia, Speaker, Consultant, Writer

Valerie Garcia knew it was time to take a leap of faith and trust her wings. She was ready to tackle things others were telling her she wasn’t ready for. But in her heart, she knew she would never be fully ready unless she just dove in and tried. She was in the middle of her very own “Ariel Moment” knowing there was more for her, even if she didn’t quite know what that meant.

So who is Valerie? She’s a storyteller, writer, teacher, coach, problem solver, and “encourager”, and wanted to create a role that enabled her to do ALL of these things. Consultant seemed to be a good catch all term to describe what she really does and what she is capable of. But it's hard to know who we want to be especially when so many of us are so many things.

“We need to start by thinking about what we don’t want to be. Sometimes it's easier to understand what doesn’t work to get clarity about what we do want. Knowing what you don’t want helps free you from a path that is not intended for you.”

Any time we step out on a limb to trust our wings, we inherently step out of our comfort zone. It’s a risk, uncharted territory, and is new and scary. As women, we tend to be more methodical and cautious and often need that masculine voice of action to go for it. Valerie teaches us that a path forward often takes our best feminine and masculine qualities. In other words, success requires balance. She coaxes others to follow her lead, “Do something before you’re ready because you will never be ready for risk.”

How can our intentional community help Valerie’s business? Check her out online and subscribe to her newsletter since it is packed with loads of goodness. Do you have a stage that needs a dynamo speaker? Hire Valerie or pass her name on to the person who does the booking. Together we can make a difference in Valerie’s business.

How do you build a brand when you’ve just moved to a new city and only know four people? Shelley has not only done this, but she’s on a mission to share the lessons learned about how to do it with others. More importantly, she wants to change the experience for new real estate agents and arm them with knowledge so they can be successful from day one, instead of floundering and struggling through frustration and fear. This is a valiant mission since most agents drop out in the first six months because they jumped into an industry they didn’t fully understand and didn’t have the support needed to stay the course.
