Afternoon Tea with Stephanie Lanier

“Integrity is about looking out for someone's best interests."

Stephanie Lanier, Broker/Owner of Lanier Property Group, Founder of The Inspiration Lab

Stephanie Lanier is a living testament to the beauty that comes from hardship. She embodies the metaphor of Light shining through cracks, and when you’re in her presence, her eyes radiate with the spark of loving kindness, grit, and integrity. “When you live in a place where there is a lot of brokenness over a long period of time, it really shapes you into a more empathetic being.”
Necessity is often the mother of invention, and this holds true for Stephanie’s story as well. When her son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, she had to find a way to make enough money to support his medical needs and the flexibility to care for him. “Our why is so much bigger than a Ferrari or a mountain house, we just want to provide for our family.” And she has. Stephanie has created the business she needed for herself and is pulling other women up as she forges a new path forward.

“It’s a really beautiful thing for women to have financial freedom and real estate provides that for so many of us.” Women are uniquely equipped to thrive in real estate since typical female traits of empathy, intuition, and nurture are super skills. These traits are valuable since residential real estate is typically connected to a joyful or sad chapter in someone’s life. “It’s so intimate and personal to be involved in these moments of transition,” reminds Stephanie. “Integrity is about looking out for someone's best interest.”

But this work is not easy and can take its toll if you don’t strategically make time for self-care. “If you don’t find a way in your spirit to work through the painful part, your body will keep score.” We must take care of ourselves and do the work so we can repair and fix the places that are broken in our life. She recommends that we start with sleep to get that needed rest, hydrate, and get back to nature.

As women we are uniquely wired to care for each other. We take turns helping and cheering each other on.  When we embrace the essence of who we are, we can build businesses and communities that connect, collaborate and use our voice to ask for what we want and need.

How can we help Stephanie’s business thrive? Check out the Inspiration lab and learn how we can all help each other’s businesses grow. And, if you happen to be in Wilmington, NC, perhaps swing by Stephanie’s home and pop a load of laundry in the wash. Let's be intentional together.
